I would have to disagree with the "great 4 season weather". While the stats list off the averages being in the mid 50's, I personally do not like the roughly mid December to mid February period as it does get cold during that time period. And the summer's are a steam bath generally speaking. Hardly ideal. Then again, it is really hard to find what I would consider a place in the United States with ideal year around temps. That would probably be coastal California.

On the other hand, Fall, is awesome in Atlanta. In fact I'd probably say October is my favorite month of all to be in Atlanta. Just my personal preferences. And I suppose I can deal with approximately a two month time period in the winter when the weather isnt to my particular taste. I will take the steam bath summers instead of 2 feet of snow and zero degree days that other places get for their winter anytime.

I havent lived in many places (5 to be exact) so I really dont have much to compare it with. But overall Atlanta itself is a pretty good place to live. Judging by the number of people coming here and the housing prices getting out of control (another negative) I guess a lot of others feel the same.

Well, I go back to the eighties when Eastern Airlines still existed, when Marta ended at West End Station, and when the interstates were constantly under construction.

Atlanta have some of the best residential neigbhorhoods in the country. October is absolutely divine with those deep blue skies.

We one of the best Global Churches in the world. We have created dances like the Bankhead Bounce. Have BBQ place like JJ Rib Shacks and Delia Sausage. We have neighborhoods that anyone can fit in: All White, All Black, Mix, Ghetto, Bougie, etc.

We are so spoiled by having nonstops flights throughout the US and to Five Continents. Plane spotting at Atlanta Hartsfield seeing all those planes line up to land, and oh yeah when a storm is coming the planes fly low over Old Natty. Seeing a German bound Lufthansa A-340 flight bank hard to left to avoid a storm is quite a site.

Our University Systems are great. We have great law and accounting firms here.

We have great paying jobs here.

DJ Smurf and Kilo

David Paul WSB show in the 1990's

And the Braves who could never win a World Series, but it was fun to watch.

Rich's All About the South commercial. Delta Airlines commercial with the little girl saying "look its grandma"

Hotlanta need a cold one beer commercial

Monica Kaufman hairstyles, Channel 46 the best news opening music back in the day.

I couldn't agree more. Atlanta has 11 horrible months made up of too cold, too hot and WAY TOO humid, and pollen. Then we get October, which is great, and sometimes bleeds over into November, when we're lucky!

Also agree California is one of the only places that offers a better climate. The entire eastern seaboard pretty much has miserable summers, but with much longer winters. I actually prefer Florida to Georgia because I don't find the heat and humidity there to be any different. Sure, you put up with it a tad longer... but you get 4 or 5 gorgeous months in the winter, instead of the one nice month we get.

Did they just stop at the "cool" and "nice" descriptors, or did they ever say why? That'd be a weird but funny conversation.

A few have said why. But most of the conversations were fast, just idle chatter so "Oh Atlanta is awesome!" is stated and then we move on.

You all just seem to have a fantastic reputation!

A plus for me is your weather, I like warmer and humid (I lived in in Panama City,FL years ago). I hate the 8-9 month 40 degrees and drizzle rain I am about to endure here in WA.

I like that the community is diverse, up here it is 90% white folks who all say they love diversity but then you still have the white soccer moms who write the school board if any not white kids start attending in certain areas. It truly is the great white north in many ways. I like to see all folks doing well.

It is pretty in GA! Also, you have a fantastic horse community.

The traffic and size are my only concerns. I just feel like a small town is nicer-and I am sick of crap traffic. Here in the greater Seattle area is some of the worst traffic (I have lived in LA, visit SF, etc.,trust me, it is BAD). It's not the most congested, just bad because Seattle area drivers drive like they live-in a passive aggressive lala land lol. They hold back and hesitate and then shoot out like some awkward kid at a party headin to the bathroom, usually hitting someone or causing mass confusion along the way. You don't know the irritation of having to get around a smug virtue signalling Prius doing 51 mph in the left lane every few miles-or more.

To be fair, I had no issues with Dallas/Ft. Worth traffic recently so maybe I just hate the way people drive up here.

Perhaps it's not 90% here, but most places are plagued by racial segregation in different social spaces everywhere. . . it becomes more evident here where everyone spends their free time. Working hours look totally different though.

Our drivers are pretty aggressive and absent-minded. . . there've been more than enough violent outbreaks with guns, knives and MACHETES to make me stop honking these days. But listen, I don't want to talk you down on Atlanta. You NEED this enthusiasm right now; and our tree canopy is sooooo gorgeous.

It seems like everyone hates Atlanta except for the people born and raised here. Every one else seems to talk like Atlanta is full of problems while every other American city is 100% perfect with no crime and efficient infrastructure (freeway system and mass transit), and advanced/futuristic technology. Basically every city is like Tokyo except for Atlanta, lol.

Yes - it can get cold from mid-December to mid-February. That is called winter. Without it we would not have Four Season Weather.
