Hi ! Im a mom with a 10 year old child with autism who is in special education in NYC moving to Gwinnett County next year. He receives all the services in his IEP like speech, OT, PT, Counseling, and im looking to see if anybody recommends any public schools that are good for my son or any great experiences they've had with any schools with any child with special needs in Gwinnett County. I've read an article that the special education in Georgia is not great I hope im wrong. Thanks

Its hit and miss. I'll let others opine on Gwinnett schools.

But I will recommend you contact the Marcus Autism Center. They could be a good resource.

And if you aren't satisfied with the public schools, Atlanta has a wealth of private special needs schools. There is a special needs "scholarship" that can provide as much as $7,000 towards tuition for students who have spent at least a year in Georgia public schools.
