The Georgia Democrat tweeted Monday night that he has, “some big news to share…”

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports Ossoff says he plans to “mount a ruthless assault on corruption in our political system” that’s prevented Congress from addressing urgent issues. Ossoff is the fourth Democrat to announce a bid for the seat.

Perdue is a former Fortune 500 chief executive with strong ties to President Donald Trump.

The 32-year-old Ossoff says he will raise a grassroots army by expanding his network of supporters who helped him raise roughly $30 million in a 2017 special election he narrowly lost to Republican Karen Handel.

He lost to Karen freaking Handel in the midterms during the Blue Wave with $1 Jillion in backing from California, Massachusetts, and New York. He is going to get crushed on a 2020 normal election with all the Trumpers voting straight ticket. He is going to set fire to a lot of West Coast money.

Ossoff singlehandedly turned a safely red House district into a swing district which is currently occupied by a Democrat. If the 2020 election is clean, then the Democratic candidate has a chance of winning.

This is not the midterms and Senate elections are very different than house elections or governorship elections. These two events aren't even comparable. All the Trumpers will be out in full force in 2020 for this election because their hero will be on the ballot this time. This is nothing like what happened in the midterms. Ossoff is going to get crushed.

Bold prediction, sir. Guess we'll find out in 2020!

Not a prediction I am proud of it is just reality at this point. I think eventually Georgia will be a purple state but we are likely two more election cycles out from that becoming reality.

Kind of helps when that election was the only one in the country that day and tens of millions of dollars in out-of-state $$$ went to Ossoff.

OMG, the ads and robocalls are going to be unbearable. I think maybe I'll go into hiding in August and re-emerge only after the election.

I'm not so sure about that. I think it was interesting the fact that the occupier in office, his vice, etc., had to come to the state to gather support. More people will be voting 2020 and so I wouldn't assume that he is going to "crush" Ossoff.

Except that Republicans turn out better for special elections than Democrats do, which means that running during a midterm or especially a presidential election year gives Democrats a better change compared with a special election year.

And yet while this was not enough to flip the 6th in 2017, in fact it flipped in 2018 without a huge influx of "west coast money." That's because a special election in 2017 was really a super unfavorable matchup for Ossoff, and he would have been much better off in 2018 (not to say Ossoff did a great job with 2017 or anything).

With all that said, Ossoff is boring af and I hope we find people way better to challenge for the two open Senate seats under contention in 2020 in Georgia.
