You are about two counties away from a Wholefoods but maybe there are some lesser known farmers markets in that area?

If nothing else could you plan to visit Decatur/Atlanta every few weeks and stock up on the things you need at Sevananda/5 points and Rainbow Foods/N.Decatur Rd or the DeKalb Farmer's Market?

Contact UGA Home Extension Service and ask them.

That's a good list. I actually believe you can find some of these things or similar items at Walmart or maybe Sam's Club.

You can buy the different kinds of flour and make your own treats.

Check with the Foods forum or the Green forum. People are glad to share cooking ideas.

I think you'll have a difficult time finding inorganic food as it is organic by nature. I may be wrong, you could have a taste for base metals and various plastics.

With that out of the way, just grow your own fruits and vegetables. I can think of no better was of assuring that your family gets good food.

Thank you so much for the list I will make a note of these. I love the look of the bakery.

Also I will try and make it to Decatur eventually. You see as a Brit it's going to take me a while to get used to the roads and the area etc

Larry, I will be growing a few things in my backyard but you know I cant grow it all. I do bake and cook from scratch but again I am not super woman a little help here and there would be nice.

Thanks guys

Brit, if you drive East for a few minutes you're likely to find a more than a few venues for fresh, locally grown produce. The roadside fruit and veggie stands. The stuff that left the ground less than a few hours before being put on display is the best.

Stray from the beaten paths in Henry county and you will find a LOT of nice people, and places to get good food.
