Default Cobb County Sheriff’s Office increasing presence at Cumberland and Town Center malls for the holidays

The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office is increasing its presence at Cumberland and Town Center malls during the holiday season through December 31st.

According to a statement from the CCSO, the agency’s Uniform Patrol and the Fugitive Apprehension and Support Team will be conducting routine patrols in the busy Cumberland and Town Center shopping areas starting Monday, December 13th through December 31st.

Quote:
"We know the holiday season can be a stressful time," Sheriff Craig Owens wrote in the statement. "This increase in patrol is meant to ease shoppers' minds as they complete their last minute holiday tasks."

The sheriff's office said the agency is not aware of any threats, and officials are just looking to keep the area safe during the holidays.

Officials are encouraging shoppers to continue practicing safe habits while they are out.

"Do not leave packages in plain sight in your vehicle, always lock your car doors, do not leave vehicles running unattended, and remember where you parked," the statement reads.
