Default townhomes near emory

I'm in the market for a townhome near Emory, but prices in the area are sky high. I'm looking to spend around $220,000 -- anyone know of any communities that are an easy commute and not completely outdated? Also, any opinions on Avery Hills, which is a fairly new community off Lawrenceville Hwy just outside the perimeter?

I don't know Avery Hills, but I saw these (Lawrenceville Hwy about 1 mile from the Decatur city limits and 10 minutes from Emory). That's a good price (mid 200's) for the location.

Take a look a these new townhomes in the Decatur area.

Also, the atmosphere is pretty ripe to negotiate a very good deal on new homes.

You know there are actually single family homes for sale very near Emory that you can buy in your price range. They aren't a lot, but there are a few. There's currently a house down the street from me with 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths priced at $200k. There's another across the street that just came on the market at $250k but you could certainly write an offer for $220k. The houses are good, solid 1950s ranches just about 3 miles from Emory. There are plusses and minuses to them (as there are with any property). Don't know if you just especially want to be in a townhome. If not, PM me if you'd like more details.

FYI, just looked up the listing down the street and the price was just dropped to $190k.
