Default Buckhead/Midtown Apartments

I am moving to Atlanta in August and looking for a 1BR/1BA apartment. Being a young, single guy who'll have to go to airport often, I've been suggested Buckhead or Midtown area.

Trying to keep the rent around $800-$1000. Somewhat secure, nice, quiet area, trying to avoid any major student complexes. Anyone have any particular suggestions for any apartments?

Be sure you're walking distance to a Marta rail station. Connecting bus service is spotty on evening/weekends in a lot of areas.

Any other suggestions? I'm pretty confused right now, especially with all the negative reviews.

Also consider Candler Park and Inman Park. While they have reputations as family-oriented they're very much populated by single people, mostly professionals. However, you can have easy access to 2 MARTA stations and Little 5 Points

There are plenty of apartments in these areas, especially Bass Lofts, which are VERY popular with younger singles and SOOOOO close to the action.

i was just recently looking in buckhead for the same thing myself...there was a place called the heights at lenox which was right next door to the lenox marta station. it was an older community that was undergoing a complete renovation. they had 1 bdrm apartments for the lower part of your budget (i think even the high 700's) it just wasn't MY favorite because i wanted something nicer but the location was great for someone who needed to walk to marta station and you could also walk to lenox square (or pretty much anything in that area) and your posting said "somewhat secure" so this property just might fit your needs...good luck
