hello, I am an african american 26 year old single mother of one currently living in Florida. I am however considering moving back to georgia, since this is where i was born and raised, and miss it dearly.
I recently have been offered a job in Rome Georgia and after doing some research was considering living in either Cartersville or Kennesaw. Some things to keep in mind though, I have a five year old whom is hearing impaired and therefore would need to be in a school that will cater to her needs. And two, the job is only paying 25,000 a year starting out, so my question i guess is could a person survive on that living in North Georgia? If anyone could give me some insight on the matter i would greatly appreciate it. |

I would consider living further out than Kennesaw (Cartersville might be OK)...I think you're going to have a tough time affording a 2 BR in the metro area on $25K.

I would consider living in Rome. Its a beautiful town and at $25,000 a year you could live there more comfortably than in Kennesaw (less gas too). Also, the Georgia School for the Deaf is about 15 minutes from Rome and I believe has various programs to help with different levels of hearing impairment.
