Smile Post Renaissance apartments - Central Park NE

Hey Guys,

Is the post renaissance apartments near the central park a safe and family friendly place to live?
I have a 8 year old and a 2 yr old.
The apartment is walking distance from my place of work as well as a school i like for my child.
All this info i have picked from the internet.
Any ideas about the neighbourhood with regards children and crime?
Thanks in advance !!!

I lived in a condo off of Central Park over 10 years ago. I still drive through the neighborhood and past Post Renaissance. I have known some single people that lived in the complex a few years back and they liked it. The park is nice and I think that you would be fine and safe during the day.

IMO, the area gets a little sketchy at night - although I think that you would be fine behind the gates at the Post property. Renaissance Park - which would be west of you is the more questionable area in my opinion. I seems to be a gathering place for the homeless so I would not venture out at night on foot. In terms of driving, I think you would be fine.

It's a great location as you can easily access the expressway on 75/85 north and south and then I-20 east and west and GA 400 north. There is a nice Publix and Walgreens nearby too not to mention addictive hot Krispy Kreme donuts!

I would scout out the area during the day and night to see what you think of the neighborhood.

Good luck!

No problem. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know about the neighborhood. I don't live too far away - just in Inman Park.

Will you be working for the Southern Companies?

I lived there for about 5 years and it's a good mix of people, but very few kids. It's starting to show its age and I have a feeling the trend will be downhill. I wouldn't be surprised if Post sells that property. The nearby park is sketchy during the day too, I wouldn't send children there unattended.
