According to the Wall Street Journal, it is very likely that April 2008 will mark the bottom of the U.S. housing market.

No way in hell. Maybe April 2012 when home prices reach 1998 levels. This is just the beginning.

The economy will have to be expanding before people will have the confidence to buy a new home and the direction of the economy won't be known until much later than May. The WSJ prediction is the kiss of death.

Yes - the one with higher circulation than NYT and LAT. The only one with higher circulation (USA Today) is deemed neutral on a political scale. Go figure....

Reading and believing are two totally different things.

That holds true for anything you read, even the negative news about the housing market. It would be fair to say that many have a vested interest in a weaker housing market; generally speaking, these people will be looking for a bottom when it has long since passed.
