We are moving to Atlanta shortly for a new job in the Peachtree City area. We are an Indian family and exploring Peachtree city and want to know about the number of Indians in that area. Can someone please tell me about the Indian community, restaurants, malls, and other facilities in this area?

I'm of Indian descent and have been going to peachtree city for more than a decade because my in-laws live there. I have never come across another Indian person there in restaurants/grocery stores/targets. I'm not saying they don't exist but I haven't seen them. Restaurants in PTC are about average chain types with a few local ones. The variety is sorely lacking, but I'm used to life in the city. If you're looking specifically for Indian groceries, hate to say it, but the closest you'll get is near Patel Plaza in Decatur, probably a 50-60 minute drive without traffic.

With your work in the PTC area, you are far better off living down there than living near the Indian diasporas of Lilburn, Suwannee, Alpharetta, Dunwoody etc. The area is great for quality of life, safety, education, parks, etc.

The largest Indian Community on the Southside is in Peachtree City/Fayette County, but it's small compared to the northside. My wife is a preschool teacher in Peachtree City and about 20% of her students were Indian before COVID. They were mainly the kid's of the Panasonic Contract IT workers who lived in Balmoral Village Apartments in Peachtree City. There is also a growing Indian community on the Northside of Peachtree City in the newer homes off of McDuff Parkway. There are several local Indian MD's and professionals that live in Peachtree City.
