Where in MN are you moving from?
I moved down here from the Twin Cities back in the fall of 2004. I actually miss wintertime, though you'll see temps drop down into the teens here a few times a year in January. And the summer is long here. It isn't as bad as I was led to believe, though.

The job requires frequent travelling so I need a place which is near airport / easily accessible to airport ( 30 minutes driving ok).

I think airport access from where I live is fine here in southern Cobb County (northwest of Atlanta, but not too far north), but others might disagree.

Also please suggest desirable places where i could buy a house in 6 months.

If you're gonna rent first (which I think is wise), you should have plenty of time to check out various areas. Some general tidbits:
* The Atlanta metro is maybe a third larger than the Twin Cities, which means there are lots of choices regarding location. It has also been expanding at a rate of 100,000 people a year, meaning there is lots of new housing.
* Housing is less expensive here than in the Twin Cities, so you can find more house for your $$$ if you do your homework.
* The airport is on the SW corner of the metro, but most of the suburbs that you'll see recommended in these forums are located across the northern half of the metro. I suspect it's because more people already live in the northern half compared to the southern half, so you'll see more people here who are posting from the northern burbs.
* There are some very good subdivisions and communities in the southern metro from what I've heard, but I don't know much about them since I'm up in the NW corner.
I think you'll find Atlanta to be an interesting place. The hills and trees make the area beautiful, I think. Crime is a little more prevalent here, though, so I would seriously consider an alarm system wherever you end up living. FWIW.
Welcome to Atlanta.
