Chamblee leaders expect the north ITP city to take major steps toward swapping its industrial past for a more people-focused, cohesively urban feel in 2022.

All of the ground-up projects are expected to break ground this quarter, laying the foundation for future Town Center phases. Each is expected to benefit from proximity to Chamblee’s MARTA rail station and the city’s growing multi-use trail..."

That’s great to hear. They have the MARTA access, some great restaurants and what not. I know this region tried branding itself as the antiquing capital of the south, and I found they still have a long way to go to claim that title, haha. When I went on a Saturday, there were a lot of chic industrial buildings that looked cool from the outside, but they were ultimately closed

The progress Chamblee has made in the last several years is amazing. I remember when it's downtown was just a bunch of empty warehouses, car dealerships, and a handful of apartment buildings.

For all the construction, it still doesn't feel very lively. I walked from their downtown to the MARTA station and along rail trail and encountered very few people.

It can be quite busy, but it varies. Regardless, Chamblee is doing a lot of things right. It's a great place to live.

If I ever moved back to Georgia (probably won't), but if I did, I'm thinking it would probably be Chamblee. Just has the right vibes, and mindset, while not being as pricey as Decatur and such.

Would all depend on work/commute situation. But ideally I'd be able to walk to MARTA and the little downtown strip area, and also still be able to drive pretty conveniently to I-85 to go visit family in Gwinnett. Both urban and suburban lifestyle options.

Nice to see the areas around Marta transit growing up into more sophisticated neighborhoods. Sandy Springs is getting its own Avalon near the marta station and State Farm buildings. You see more development planned around the Stone Mountain station (Indian Creek). Maybe it's a good time to buy houses or land in the Indian Creek area. There's also a big development at the Doraville marta station where the old GM plant used to be.

Really depends on the time of day. Prime time is around 4pm to 8pm, and midday on the weekends. It's certainly not to Beltline levels but Downtown Chamblee was a literal ghost town not too long ago.

For now, but even that has become untrue with the pandemic supply problem. Prices are WAY up from where they were in 2019
