Website for rentals instead of Craigslist
I saw the prior thread on short term housing but am wondering is there a better website than craigslist for longer term rentals in the Atlanta area? Craigslist is super popular out her so I am wondering if it alson has the corner in the Atlanta area or if landlords prefer to use something else. Thanks!

Craigslist is hot here as well. If you want an apartment owned by a property management company, then look up the company I told you about in your other thread. Independently owned apartments in Atlanta are usually in the classifieds, (go to ajc.com) or on a site called rentlist.com. Or, you have to just drive around neighborhoods and look for "for rent" signs in windows, and write down the phone number. This is most common in Buckhead/Midtown, as Dunwoody and Sandy Springs don't really have many privately owned units.

efrentier.com seems to be neat little site for rentals. Its similar to craigslist except its much cleaner and information is easier to find. In addition to apartments it also gives you provision to rent things like tools, furniture .... etc

Also try www.ajc.com . I found it very helpful. They give neighborhood information as well as listings for rent.
You can also enlist the services of a realtor ( free to you the renter) who can pull all of the rentals listed on the MLS that are privately owned (if you don't like apartment complexes).
I have been researching Dunwoody/Sandy Springs/Alpharetta apartments vs privately owned condos for the last 2 months and if you decide to rent an apartment do yourself a favor and check www.apartmentratings.com. Super helpful website.

Try Rentals.com, Rentlist.net, and Kexter.com. The last is a free service that takes Craigslist ads and places them on a map, which I found helpful now that CList is overrun with highly obnoxious corporate apt. ads. It seems to weed out a lot of that and you're able to look in the area that interests you.
Oh. Just realized this was resurrected from last year. FWIW.

There are some free rental agencies (forgot their names). You could call them up and give your preferences (location, price range, amenities etc) and they will find matches and compose a list and email them to you. To top if off this service is free. All you have to do is when you sign the lease with the apartment put their name as the referrer.
