Default Average Commute in Metro Atlanta

What's the average commute time and miles driven for commuters in Atlanta? Is 30 - 40 minutes in non rush hour traffic out of the ordinary for people to travel? The reason I ask is because there is a job in Cobb County (Austell) that I'm interested in but I will be living in the city of Atlanta. Google estimates 37 minutes travel time but I'm thinking that's kinda extreme to drive roundtrip? Anyone drive further or longer your advice is greatly appreciated.

Sure, there are people that drive that much and more. Some think it's fine and others do not. (In fact, I can think of specific people on this forum who've often mentioned how happy/unhappy they are with their 45-minute+ commutes). Just my opinion, but I think the key question for you is how you feel about it.

Depending on exactly where you're livin, and exactly where the job is in Austell, 37 minutes could be right, or it could actually be a low estimate.

The reverse commute from Atlanta to Austell should be fine as long as you are in Western Atlanta (such as W. Marietta St) or midtown. You want to avoid having to commute from East Atlanta or too far South of I-20.
