Mourning the closure of a Favorite Restaurant
Does anyone know why Shipfeifer's on Peachtree closed and if there are plans to reopen? Granted, the place needed a bit of a facelift, but if I told you the curly fries and Grecian Jr. salad were listed as two of my top ten reasons to move back to Atlanta, I wouldn't be lying!!
Please tell me it's only temporary. Please tell me they're coming back! Anyone?

Oh man I didn't know they shut down. I loved their falafel and round-cut fries.

Apparently new management took over Shipfeifer's a couple of years ago and if you read some of the local blogs there was a lot of dissatisfaction. The last couple of times I was in there, there were maybe three or four tables seated; meanwhile, neighbors R Thomas and Huey's had full houses.

too bad, the food use to be very good.
i do not like R Thomas food. Huey's is ok. does R Thomoas still put those poor parrots out on the SIDEWALK right on P'tree Street?? that guys was NUTS. anything to attract customers into the restaurant. i felt so bad for the parrots, they were totally traumatized from the traffic and noise. i think the last time i went by the cafe the birds were on the side of the building (not inside, outside) next to the driveway. hopefully he stopped dragging their cages out to the street. what people will do for a buck. geesh.

They line the driveway and entryway. Face Shipfeifers mostly.
