Is all of New Jersey moving here now (?)
Ok, lately we're getting a lot of "Moving to Atlanta from New Jersey" threads.
What is New Jersey doing... paying people to move here? Billboards? Free hybrid cars to get out of there? Wha?

It's a conspiracy, Greg- we're trying to drive you insane......lol
Actually, the rest of the state heard that I was here, so they had to follow- it's tough being a superstar.....

I think the property taxes alone are driving people from the Garden State here in droves. I find suburban Atlanta to be a lot like North Jersey in terms of access to a big city, shopping and traffic!!! The weather is just another big bonus. Friendly helpful people, just another reason to move.

I don't see to many Jersey folks coming in. The vast majority of tags I notice are New York City and Florida.
You can always tell a car from the boroughs by the cut up bumpers due to the bump and grind parking procedures.
Florida refugees from Dade and Broward are the majority in my opinon though

Oh come on... You think NYC is the only part of NY with mostly parallel parking? A lot of metro Albany is the same way. I think the odds are they are from metro NYC because metro NYC is more than half the state's population.

Not at all. I have been ALL over NY.
The difference is Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn.
For example, in Syracuse and Buffalo, one will back, then move forward, back, straighten, and complete very carefully.
In the boroughs it is back smack!, forward smack!, then backwards forwards, smack! smack!, then get out of the car walk around, jump on other cars bumper and propel yourself to the sidewalk.
Now do you get what I'm saying?

Oh man...that is sooooooooo right on the money. I grew up in Queens and used to park my first car on the street in Flushing and that's no exageration. Brings back memories.

The US Census backs you up...most people relocating from GA are coming from FL, followed by NY.

Hey, we are most likely moving to GA hopefully in a year or two and guess what?? We are coming from NEW JERSEY!! Actually I am from NY though !
Yes, property taxes stink here. In fact, they are the highest out of any state in the country...........the homes are overpriced here....and the tolls stink!
