My husband is getting relocated to cobb county next month. I have been an Elementary School teacher in central Florida for 19 years. I have my resume and Georgia certification ready to go. Can anyone ( possibly another teacher ) tell me what steps I need to take to get my resume out to all the school in cobb county. Also what's the best way to get in front the principle's with my resume. I would love to have a job when the 2008 year starts. Thanks for all your help.

I did an advanced search/Atlanta forum and found these>>>
http://www.city-data.com/forum/searc...archid=5777872

Browse the responses and if you have further questions --be patient--TGIF and the posters who usually have good suggestions may be relaxing. I plan to do this very soon.

I taught for DeKalb and Savannah-Chatham--can't really give much FYI on Cobb. It is a good school system. Go to their website and browse it thoroughly. Keep in touch with Human Resources--state your objective and qualifcations very plainly each and every time and be very appreciative of any efforts on your behalf. Those involved in bureaucratic affairs remember courtesy--that could get you a JOB--Please and Thank You.

It is your responsibility to contact the Dept of Education/Georgia and be sure yourhttp://www.city-data.com/forum/search.php?searchid=5777872 certification is current.

I'm copying a post I wrote for a similar topic last month.

Be very aggresive! Email your resume and cover letter to the principal of any schools you are interested in. Go to the individual school websites and find out if there is a department head and email them also. If you don't hear back after a week or two send a follow up email. This is what I did and I just signed my contract two weeks ago for the job I really wanted after getting four offers... it's in Cobb County. The principals and department heads said they appreciated my aggressiveness and that it showed that I really wanted it. You can also fax a resume as well... in many cases I did both. The important thing is to get your name out there and don't get discouraged.

Check out these sites for openings.

I would work on your grammar and usage before you try to get your resume out to all the "school in cobb county" and get in front of "principle's." I'm not posting this to be mean. You just really need to get your writing and spelling under control before you get in front of a classroom.

This sort of comment should be sent in a private message to the user. Maybe you didn't intend to be mean but it is mean. The poster is only looking for advice and on this informal forum and was probably typing quickly. I'm sure you've done the same on a post somewhere along the line. Be nice!!!
