Default relocating with section 8 voucher

I am 33 year old single female with four boys aged 14, 10, 4 and 7 months. I want to relocate to the Atlanta area and I have a section 8 voucher for 3 bedrooms. We are coming from a small town in Ohio. What is the best area to live in for schools, employment, public transportation, recreation and close proximity to hospitals, grocery stores etc, etc. Who do I need to contact, and what do I need to do to start this process? Anyone with information I would appreciate. Thank you.

The metro Atlanta area is huge, and you first need to secure employment before looking for a house- otherwise you could be looking at a 2-hour commute. Have you looked into available positions in your field, and where they might be located?

I would live near the Northern Part of the North-South rail line. Additionally, find a job before you get here so you aren't here months without a job. I am not sure how Section 8 works, but your local section 8 office won't help you start the process?

Call a local housing authority in Atlanta and they should be able to provide you with a list of landlords/apartment complexes who accept S-8 vouchers. That should get you started. Best of luck.

Great, we can use more broke, irresponsible single-parents here in Atlanta. It must be nice to be able to leech off the taxpayers to fund your poor choices.
