I'm waiting for a call back from the redistricting hotline. Hotline? "Emergency!!" If the person who calls me back doesn't know I'm going to start begging for Avondale. It would be kind of funny if they don't know yet and can be persuaded. Strongly doubt it though.

I might have jogged past your house today because I ran up by Rockbridge and down into a subdivision (not far from the daycare).

Sweet... just got a call and we are in Avondale Elem's district. Not only a future possibility for my kid, but could be better for property values. We'll see.

Good news! Glad the emergency is resolved, and yes, I bet you did run by my house. Hey, neighbor!

I highly recommend that you take a look at this site:

Avondale Education Association

The Avondale Education Association: Great for the schools, community, and the future of Avondale Estates (and close-by areas).

Thank you. I actually did notice that you posted this in the "Decatur Fringe" thread and it totally opened my eyes. We are still a few years away from a school decision, one that impacts whether we move or not. Do you have any feel for how the school might change with Forrest Hills students joining the campus? Our child is half hispanic and we hope to find a school that is diverse, but not lopsided one way or the other. I'm wondering if International Community School has more of a mix?

Hello atlantamoi...I recommend contacting someone on the AEA Steering Committee. I think they will offer you better details.

Good Luck.
