My family members and I are looking to relocate to Georgia preferably close to Atlanta (no more than an hour away) and could use some information in regards to renting. In my intense research, Ive seen on the forum that there could be some pros and cons in regards to renting vs owning that could possibly translate into a bit of tension. I recall reading a post that indicated a certain area where the schools were somewhat distinguished by children whose parents were renters vs owners. Before we make a permanent decision to become homeowners in Georgia, wed like to take the opportunity to rent for a year to get acquainted with the different areas which would give us a bit more flexibility and time to decide just where wed like to settle down. Were looking for affordability within the 3-4 bedroom range in an area where we wouldnt be afraid to come outside at night and where the schools are decent. Although Ive been able to gather a ton of information on this forum and different websites, weve decided to make a trip to Georgia next month to drive around the Atlanta area in hopes of relocating within 3-6 months Any assistance or information would be greatly appreciated.

The best bet is to rent a townhouse instead of apartment. In duluth, you can rent a townhouse with three levels townhouse (3 bedrooms and 3 bathroom) with a garage for around $1250.
