Home Depot Office Commute To Kennesaw (moved from another forum)
I have been exploring working for the corp office of Home Depot on Paces Ferry Road. While I realize there are different areas of Kennesaw, what would be the approx commute time to Kennesaw after 5.30PM or from Kennesaw to Home Depot between 7-730AM. As well as the commute time if we were to live in Marrieta.
Are there any other nice type of suburbs that may have a short commute time other than Kennesaw or Marrietta. We are a white jewish/italian family of 4 with two children ages 8-10, looking for upper middle class type neighborhoods with good schools, etc suburbia type feel, area, neighborhood etc. looking to spend 300-400k on a house. We are from New England but have lived in another southern state past 5 years.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What zip codes would I be looking at in above towns for areas I have described.
Thanks

Dakota,
You will probably get better feedback if you post this in the Atlanta forum.

The big white "Store Support Center" complex. My wife works there.

I can't answer this bit (I live in Mableton, which is quote a bit south of Kennesaw). However...

You might also want to consider southern Smyrna. There are some very nice neighborhoods, although I've heard both positive and negative things about the various schools. Not having kids, I don't have firsthand experience.

Smyrna would be 30080/30082 and the very northernmost part of 30126. This Zip Code Mapping Site is a good tool.

I am a Realtor who lives in Kennesaw. I do do a lot of busness in Syrmna/Vinings. The issue with those areas id the schools for your kids. If you find a place close to the Highway in Kennesaw Acworth you should be able to get to work with in 20 to 30 minutes. And you have two choices You could take the East West Connector Of I75. You should try west of the Barrett Parkway Corridor once it turns into the EW Connector.
Let me know if I can be of assistance

If you try to take the East-West Connector between 7 and 7:30, you commute will definitely be more than 30 minutes from Kennesaw. Without any traffic, that ride is probably 30 or 35 minutes (of course, it depends where exactly you pick up the E-W Connector). I do not live in Kennesaw so I cannot comment on the commute time at 7 AM, but 20 to 30 minutes on the highway seems optimistic.
For a shorter commute, you could consider parts of East Cobb.

You just described Dunwoody (30338). Not a good commute to Home Depot HQ however.

We live in East Cobb 30062. A few neighbors work for Home Depot and the commute is short and easy. My spouse works in same area and it is rarely more than 20-25 minutes. Easy driving, only stopping occasionally for lights.

Look at Heritage at Vinings. It's about 2 minutes from HD headquarters and you can get a steal on a home. It's a nice swim/tennis neighborhood in Smyrna - Teasley Elem. Houses are close together but if you don't mind it's a great neighborhood. Lots of families and there are a good number of Jewish families as well.
