Does anyone have any suggestions for Fireworks in Cobb ? With the exception of the fireworks at the Square (I heard it took hours to get out of there last year).
Is there anything in Powder Springs, Smyrna, East Cobb ? I really would like to avoid the trip downtown. ThX |

Looks like you're looking for something in the southern part of Cobb? North-East Cobb is close to the Roswell "Extravaganza" at Roswell High School.

My brother-in-law is in charge of Acworth Parks and Rec, Acworth does them over Lake Acworth, viewable from Allatoona (rent a pontoon), and mainly from the beach on Acworth (no boats).
Exit 278 on 75, 5 minutes off the exit off higway 92 Not sure on the rules as far as bringing you're own grill but they have benches/grills you can rent, check out their website. |

Powder Springs actually has a decent fireworks display that's bigger than most towns this size usually have, and while it gets busy, it won't take "hours" to get out.
It starts at 6pm in the town square on Friday the 4th, and fireworks start just after dark. You will though, need to get there pretty early on to get decent (close) parking to the square. Once things are over it's busy, but if you hang out a few minutes or so then it's not bad getting back on the roads. HINT: If you don't actually want to go to the square and deal with the people there, some folks go to the parking lot of the Flagstar Bank that's on New Macland Road right before you get to Richard Sailor's Parkway, and hang out there. The new Powder Springs Home Depot parking lot will have a view of the fireworks from a distance as well -you won't be right under them, but you'll get to see most all of them go off well enough, and be able to take photos of them pretty well if that's your thing. Flagstar sits a bit higher - might be a better vantage point. |

Is this the "downtown" esque square ? With Moes etc. ? If so I think this is the best bet ! Any ideas on where to park ?

Netdragon...I can't find anything online about a July 4th Fireworks event in Smyrna. Do you know where I can find more info ?

Hmm... It looks like I got the anniversary celebration with fireworks Smyrna has on August 2 mixed up with the 4th of July.

As bad as Marietta Square's parking situation is, you CAN find places to park though it might be a walk to the Square. And in Powder Springs there are side streets and parking lots all over the place. I can't imagine how they would handle it at the Market Square in Smyrna - that place has bad parking on a good day it seems sometimes.
