Yeah I think Toco Hills will go up a lot going forward and Chamblee aswell. Both areas will probably outpace most of Atlanta. I think Chamblee has a lot going for it especially near the Marta.

Doraville is probably a good play if the regeneration of the old GM plant goes forward.

Anyone have any good insight on Druid Forest. It seems to be a mixture of condos and townhomes. The price range, based on some numbers I have seen is doable.

I guess my only concern is the volatility of living in a condo or townhome. Associated HOA fees. And if they have rules against being able to rent the unit...

Thank U... This is very interesting. I will have to stay on top of this as well.*

Right now, I do not want to compromise on the location too much. I am willing to compromise on price and consider a townhome. One never knows what can happen in with patient and opportunity. I will succeed.*

I would proceed with caution when considering a 'condo conversion' (such as Druid Forest)...the construction standards can be quite different for a building intended for apartments and one built for condominiums.
I also have a concern with the NDH corridor between LaVista and Briarcliff Rds...there are proposals on the table to do massive redevelopment in this area, leveling the SFHs there in favor of buildings as high as five stories.
Here's a watchdog group that has been keeping a close eye on what is going on in the area:
