I really dont see your point posting here. First off, it makes a lot of sense to ask the locals, instead of just a realtor that's there for one reason...Make money. He's getting different perspectives, which makes sense. You on the other hand, I dont have any kind words for you...I'll keep them to myself and let this thread move along. I am learning quite a bit reading his posts. He asks questions many would ask. You have nothing constructive to say, so kindly step off.

Mechanicsville is looking good, especially on Dodd St., Hendrix Ave., and the lower part of Ormond St. It's turning street by street, like it always does.

I agree with Atlanta Hope. You can live in what seems like a fairly nice neighborhood, but you still have thugs that come from wherever to steal, murder, etc, etc. I live right outside of City of Decatur limits-fairly safe neighborhood, but we have weekly robberies when everyone is at work. No home invasion yet, but lots of gunfire at night (of course not from my neighbors, but from surrounding neighborhoods/apartments). An Avondale cop described our area best-he told me that Avondale Estates is a nice area, but is surrounded by a war zone. This is completely true. I am from Pennsylvania and have never experienced or seen so much crime in my life. In my opinion, crime seems to be everywhere, it is not just in a specific section (Like in other cities).
