Default Best areas for newly divorced mom

Hello!
I am in the process of being divorced. Currently, I reside in Hampton, GA. I work in Buckhead. Where are the best areas in/near Atlanta for divorced moms? I would like an area that is close to a main road or interstate, near shopping, etc. I have 2 kids and need excellent schools, but the area must be affordable.

Affordable to me = nothing more than $180,000. Can be a house or townhome.

I would consider neighborhoods in Tucker, Chamblee and Smyrna...I can't really think of anywhere else that has reasonable access to Buckhead where you can find decent schools and reasonable RE prices.

If you are used to commuting from Hampton then you wouldn't mind another smaller commute I am assuming? I would suggest Roswell. It is loaded for bear as far as schools, quality of life, parks, sports teams for the kids, shopping, restaraunts etc. It will put you very close to 400 to get down to B-Head. You will also be able to find something in your price range I THINK. It would be worth checking out. I know a couple of outstanding buyer agents if you need a referral.

Good luck with that process. I can't imagine going through something like that especially with kids.
