I think it would be a good idea to make one in the world forum.

And this thread, along with the other in General US, should have been closed. Maybe if the thread in the world forum is made, it can go along a little different.

Some of these things that ya'll are referencing really have no bearing once you leave America so they aren't a basis for international recognition. And yes everyone knows Coke for example but how many know it originated or whatever in Atlanta?
There already is. It was initially put here, and then it was put in the General US forum

Yeah, because the mods are going to be FURIOUS when they find out that a thread has gone off-topic. That NEVER happens around here.

Who voted for Houston? When y'all beat out Dallas, come see us. That'll be funny if more people know about us in the World Forum too.

I agree, which is why one of my points was/is that things such as music and the arts, or folk tales like the Loch Ness Moster, carry more weight when it comes to "name recognition" than something like the location of the Dell corporate office or population numbers.

Oh please and get over yourself. You're just mad because everyone isn't embracing your theory about how influential Austin is because of the SXSW festival. This thread was about Atlanta vs. Houston. Not Austin...
