Hakeem was a beast and just raw all over.

Uh, I don't know how you measure "raw all over", but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
Sure, Hakeem is a basketball legend. However, a home run is a bit more notable and newsworthy than blocking a basketball (which occurs, what, 7500times each game?), thus it is more powerful in terms of generating attention/name recognition.

Man wtf? You obviously don't know basketball. You also can't really compare basketball and baseball like that. Blocked shots don't happen all the time in the NBA. Hakeem is the all-time leader with 3,380 blocks. He is also a two-time NBA champion, one-time MVP, and multiple All-Star. He also played in I believe two or three Olympic Games for the US Mens Basketball Team (was there in Atlanta when the US won the Gold).
Hakeem is a sports legend period. Much like Hank Aaron is, too.

No, I'm asking you to back up what you claim I am doing with some evidence. I think you are wrong, thus I am challenging you to prove it.
To get back to the meat of your basketball argument, I think Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth's home run record is more significant internationally than anything Hakeem has done. Sorry. Either way, both of us are just stating opinions, so who cares?

Internationally? No.....
Basketball is bigger than baseball internationally first of all. Second, Hakeem is straight from Nigeria. He moved to Houston only for college and hadn't even played basketball until then. You think Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth's record is significant. I think it is, too, but Hank Aaron's record was just broken last season...

Right because all the European, African and Asian countries that play baseball care about this.
