(My wife who happens to be black (from the Caribbean) tells me about it all the time. You see them laying in their bed full of regrets, powerless, cannot think of being disrespectful to these care givers, they spent their lives hating). Ah, how life rears its head down the road.

I had to rep you on this, I and my wife are also from the West Indies and have many family members who are nurses, or work in nursing homes. I get stories like this everyday, old people who are at the end of their lives and regret all the things they have done to minorities and ironically having these same minorities as their caregivers.

Thank you. It's only a matter of time before people like Scraper Enthusiast and Elvez get their day and may not have enough strength to dare question where such minority studied or even worry about the person's skin color or culture. Life has a way with these type of people.

Diversity is essential to a child's development. Any person, regardless of race, who grows up in a culture that doesn't appreciate differences and embrace them eventually end up learning these lessons in their later years, making it more difficult to accept. Children are only sensitive to differences that their parents and others make an issue about.

I grew up in an area where there only white people. There was a Chinese restaurant and we had no idea where they lived as we NEVER saw them outside of the restaurant. I always wondered if they lived there and never went to school. I remember the first time I ever saw a black couple in the area. It was a big deal no to me, but to the community. They acted like they were being invaded by aliens. Mind you this couple was very well-educated. His suits cost more than most of the complainers made in a month. He was a doctor and people were shocked by it as if all black people are as dumb as a box of rocks. So stupid. There are uneducated and unintelligent people in all skin colors.

As an adult, I have no problem with people of different races, ethnicities, cultures, sexual preference, etc. Why? My mother would have knocked the living daylights out of me if I was nasty to someone else because they were of a different race or culture or whatever. I was TAUGHT tolerance. There's idiots in every race, culture, sexual orientation, ethnicities, etc. Unless parents teach their children to be tolerant of others there will always be these issues.

I disagree. White children 11-14 can be little animals even in a virtually all-white environment. I've seen it more than once. I've seen it with poor white kids, and I've seen it with upper middle class white kids. I've seen it in the north, and I've seen it in the south. That age group is just problematic. I can MAYBE imagine kids that age being orderly and respectful at a very strict religious school, but I can't imagine it under any other circumstance.

I went to an all white school in the north and let me tell you, we were nothing but wild animals in junior high! We were an average middle class public school. The hormones are turning your brain to mush. You're trying to figure out who you are. It's a rough time in life.

Add in to that mix of body chemistry with single parent families, abuse - in all forms, absent parents, being raised by the tv/video game system and you're creating a disaster. Personally, my parents would have knocked the snot out of me if I got into fights and caused problems in school. My mother worked there so she would have known within seconds if we acted like wild animals and caused problems.

I feel as though some of you adults really need to get a grip and let go of the race card! If as young adults we can get along and get pass skin color.... so can you so called adults.

I went to both Snellville Middle and South Gwinnett. I graduated from South Gwinnett in 1998. When I went there, both schools were predominantly white, and had no major problems. Well it's a good thing they don't need metal detectors in any schools with a large number of Whites like in a Woodstock. No need to worry about your kids safety there. You follow the news much?

And let's see one White guy kills 10 people in one fell swoop. Not because he was a desperately in need of money and killed someone in the course of a roberry. Nope just because he was apparently having a bad day and just felt like knocking some people off. Of course not to be outdone another guy decides to take out 15 innocents.

Now...let's be fair. There are plenty of poor white people out there desperately trying to survive, and I'm sure plenty of them resort to crime at some point.
