Relocation advice
Hello everyone,
I'm a 27 F, looking to relocate to the southeast with my fiance. He may be getting an interview in ATL for next week. I'm finally getting closer to get OUT of NYC!!!!!!!
Can anyone offer advice on good neighborhoods? I've been looking into apts in Marietta, Norcross, Sandy Springs, and Alpharetta. Which of these is safest, affordable and pretty close to the city??
When I've looked into other places in the south, I normally ask about nightlife, but since ATL is a big city, I'm assuming the nightlife is great and comparable to NY.
Thanks in advance!

You are coming from New York and you will miss the lifestyle that you've once lived. NY has way more than the "A" (food, nightlife, etc). I hate to say this but you need to lower your expectations of Atlanta and then maybe your time here will be okay. Do more research or you'll be a mess here. Metro Atl is maybe the size of on borough up there and I hope that you have a car. You NY'er love your pizza and bagel, well the food down here is different (good or bad), man I sound like Atlantagreg on here. I know that I haven't answered your questions but I was sounding the warning. Later.

I would gear your search around job locations since traffic is obviously the biggest issue here. Keep in mind too that it's the drive itself and not the distance to check into. You will want to avoid certain traffic hot zones.
I'm partial to the Sandy Springs/Roswell/Alpharetta swatch to the north. The further out the better as long as you can get to work within a reasonable time.
Goodluck with everything...

Yes, I realize that ATL will be a lot smaller than NY. Originally, I was looking to relocate to places where the population was a fraction of Atl. Atl is the largest city I've looked into so far. It seems great. My fiance drives, and yes I will purchase a car as soon as we get down there. I actually prefer driving, over taking the NYC subways.
And yes I do love southern food. lol. So that part isn't a problem.
Ramblinwreck.. yes I've heard that the traffic could be pretty bad from one of the recruiters. I'll continue to look into those areas. Looking good so far!!!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Oh - sorry. That slipped out.
Forgetting about nightlife, you really need to specify what "affordable" is in the way of rent, and where his job may be (location wise) before it's easiest to pinpoint a good area to tell you where to look.
