I live in Downtown Atlanta and I'm considering taking a job in Alpharetta just off Exit 11 from GA 400. Since this is a reverse commute, I'm wondering how bad it will be. Can anyone who does this commute on a daily basis provide me with some idea of how long it would take them? I'm sure the worse hang ups will be in the late afternoons coming from Alpharetta back into Downtown, probably around the toll booth and the Connector.
I swear, if the commute is that bad, I don't think I'd take the job. Thanks. |

I have done that reverse commute myself from Dowtown to that area, but only for temporary assignments. For me it was very hit and miss and I did sit in traffic time to time.
I recently talked to a friend who lives in NE Atlanta near Druid Hills and commutes to Alpharetta and IIRC, he said coming back home is almost always worse than going in. His work hours are like 8-5, so normal rush hours. Take a look here, more details: someone else the same question you did recently. |
