So I found this article about how some thieves in Atlanta stole about 500 parking meters and basically nothing is being done about it!

FOXNews.com - Atlanta Thieves Steal 500 Parking Meters, Officials Don't File Reports - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News

I feel so frustrated.

Yeah the homeless take them down to the tracks under WCC and put them on the tracks, when a train comes by they break open the meters.

A few months ago police did a sweep of the area to rid it of the homeless and they found a bunch of meters.

This is the kind of mismanagement by the city government that makes people so angry and disgusted.

Wasting taxpayer money, and losing revenue.

One of the first layoffs recently included most of the meter/parking enforcement officers. So, now the city will collect less money. A nonsensical move: cutting a revenue-generating position, while keeping useless bureaucrats on the "good old boy" money train.

i.e. OTP people aren't keen to incorporating ITP politics, i.e. Marta, new cities, etc.

The thing I find funny is we have this pahhandling law but I get hit up 1 or 2 times a day on PeachTree, dowtown.

One of our execs lives in Boston and is down here quite a bit and claims he doesn't get hassled anywhere else worse than here, with the exception of San Francisco.
