you hair will grow without you doing anything to it. God fixed it so your hair will grow. The problem comes when you get chemicals by someone who does not have the knowledge needed to process them correctly. people are going natural because they think the relaxer is the problem. the problem is the chemical is not being done correctly. It is true that people can have or not have growing hands. I used to think that was a bunch of crock until I got my hair cut by someone and after four years it still was not growing. Be very careful who you let do your hair. Somebody suggested that you ask a lot of questions, that's a good idea, but many stylist know the right thing to say. they have been faking it for so long. Just be careful in selecting a stylist, remember everyone can have a bad day. That doesn't mean they are a bad stylist. Oprah is natural. Her stylist may not be knowledgeable in chemical processing. if you have chemicals you need a stylist who does chemicals well. if you go to a Press-n curl specialist who doesn't specialize in chemicals you are in the wrong salon. Cheap is not necessarily better. Don't go to somebody just because they are cheap. You get what you pay for.

Reading through the beginning pages of the thread makes me wonder if you women are even aware that Dominican isnt a race, but a nationality with mostly mulattos (black&white mixed people) but still contains many Afro-Dominicans. There are many that are black AND dominican. RANDOM, I know....but I'm just saying.

Please help. I just moved to Alpharetta, GA. I need to find a hair stylist for my daughter that doesn't use waaaay too much relaxer. Our old Stylist did a wonderful job ! He specialized in "healthy" hair and most of his clients were natural(including myself). My daughter doesn't have the type of hair that can go natural easily because she likes it to be straight and I don't want her putting excessive amounts of heat on it to keep it straight.
