I currently live in Woodstock...which I love! However, the hubby may be getting a new job around the perimeter/Norcross area. I was thinking East Cobb would be the best and nearest "burb" neighborhood to that area.

Any suggestions for nice swim/tennis subdivision with homes in the 300-400 range? Prefer a school of excellence for resale value and near a healthfood store (Trader Joes?)

TIA

You do know that's low for east East Cobb, don't you? But not impossible.

Look at Hampton Lake and the larger Hampton Farms in East Cobb, both off Johnsons Ferry Road (Trader Joe's just went in near an existing Fresh Market). One of those might... might have something around $400 but it goes up from that point.

Hampton Lake residents love their tennis! You could get involved with ALTA there. Also, Indian Hills Country Club off Lower Roswell Road (not far from Johnsons Ferry) has unusually big yards and good value in the 30068 zip. If you don't mind an older home, I'll bet you can still find something in your price range there.

Another affordable option in East Cobb is Willow Point. It is a swim-tennis community built in the 1970s, but as far as I know, there are no new single-family homes being built within the Mt. Bethel/Dickerson/Walton areas between $300,00 and $400,000. Willow Point certainly falls into the most highly sought-after school district.

Princeton West is another swim-tennis a little farther over but still within the Walton school zone. I just checked online and found a couple of surprisingly affordable older homes (1980s) -- mid to upper $300s.

But Applejuice, these East Cobb addresses are not exactly convenient to Norcross. Closer than Woodstock, true, but you still have to cross the river somewhere and you know what that means. Bottlenecks. Just keep that in mind.

But yes, your resale value would be assured because of Walton High School.

Just curious, why not consider John's Creek. John's Creek is just north of Norcross. Also, there is trader's Joe in West Norcross and whole's Food there too. Northview is almost in same level as Walton high. And Traffic will be so much better. Just something to ponder about.

Johnson's Landing is in East Cobb and prices are in the low 300s. It is also in the Pope, Hightower, Tritt school district. I have seen the homes go on and off the market in less than a month though.

Highland Pointe subd. off Sandy Plains a mile to Hwy. 92. Nice swim tennis but be careful to check construction flaws and appraisal when buying. Lassiter hs, Davis elem., Mabry middle.
