Tucker, Ga (Atlanta: homes, neighborhood, schools)

Someone recomended Tucker as a possible place to relocate. I am looking for a somewhat quiet area that I do not have to worry about getting robbed. I also want a place close to my work which is located off of I-85 just inside I-285. Does Tucker sound like a possible spot?

Tucker can be a nice place to live depending on which part you choose. The nicest part of Tucker now has a Stone Moutain address though. The community is called Smokerise and is almost entirely residential with beautiful homes and an abundance of trees. The community is one of Atlanta's best kept secrets and is located off of Highway 78, about 15-20 minutes from where you said you would be working. The neighborhood is still zoned to Tucker's schools and Tucker High just got the IB program which is certain to boost that school's academics even more. If you look on Removed you can search the community in the 30087 zip code. The only downside is that most of the homes are in the 500s to 800s range. BUT, another plus is that the area is very mixed in regards to race with almost equal numbers of whites and blacks.
