Jobs in Atlanta
In the Bay Area we use craigslist as our main source to look for jobs. My husband is looking for a job in Accounting and it seems like most posters on craigslist are temp agencies. What places do actual employers post for openings?
Many people told me that like nursing there is a demand for Accountants but I just haven't seen the jobs. I know there is the AJC.com, monster.com, and hotjobs.com am I missing something? We live in Roswell (I love Roswell by the way & just love GA) and he doesn't mind commuting to Atlanta (traffic really isn't that bad when you compare it to CA) and I think he would prefer working in the city.
Any advice would be great. When I lived here 7 years ago it didn't seem like it was as hard to get a job but it could just be the economy too???
Thanks

Thanks for the info. For anyone looking for a job in or around Atlanta I also found the following sites: metroatlanta.com and jobster.com.

Oh, also found flipdog.com but it seems like they are just pulling from monster.com.

jst2see, I don't like the workinginatlanta.com site. It is just a pay per click site (advertising site) with google searches and doesn't help people that are looking for jobs. But thanks for the info.

Last time I looked, AJC-jobs was pages and pages of staffing agencies for "accounting".
Another method would be to make a list of companies here in Atlanta and go directly to their websites and search for openings.

I have found jobs on craigslist, careerbuilder, through a recruiter and through someone I personally know.
The recruiter is how I landed my first job in ATL (not to mention first REAL job after graduating from college). Maybe a recruiter who specializes in the Accounting industry would point him in the right direction?.

Atlanta is a hub of corporate headquarters. Use those company websites and apply. Next, research Recruiters in Atlanta. There's countless out there, but lean on the National recruiters that have market presence in atlanta. They tend to have contract arrangements already in place with many of the large foundations here to assist you and can assist you better than most faceless websites.
