I believe the cheapest is the theater at South Dekalb Mall. Last time I went there it was $6 for a matinee and $9 otherwise. That is an odd setup though. They serve real food and the theaters have tables and stuff in them.

The theater by the Trader Joe's in Midtown is $7 for a matinee, but $10 otherwise and is convenient to Trader Joe's.

And the one at Phipps is $6/$10.

There aren't a lot of theaters intown so the competition is not there.

Not near Marta but the Picture Show in Marietta is $1.75, $1.25 for matinee and $0.75 on Tuesdays.

The AMC in Tower Walk at Piedmont and Peachtree is $5 all the time Monday-Thursday before it jumps to I think $10. It's not a far walk from the Buckhead MARTA station. Of course since they serve food in the theatre it's not exactly like a regular set up but to be able to go at night for five bucks, who cares!

I just checked, and they want $12.00 for a ticket for a 3:30 PM show on a Tuesday.

You looked up that 3D Christmas Carol movie I'm guessing, I just went and looked up Law Abiding Citizen and it said $6 for 10:15 tonight.
And then I found this:
"AMC reserves the right to exercise special pricing options for unique in-theatre experiences."
(So it must be $6/$12 anyway, went up a dollar at some point.)
