Is Decatur a nice place to live?

That depends on you...will you be living in poverty or luxury? Poverty isn't so nice, luxury is fabulous. And there is a wide range in between the two...Decatur is very spread out and it depends on what neighborhood you choose to live in. I lived off of Clairmont Rd, between N. Druid Hills and Scott Blvd. near the VA Hospital. It's almost all residential with a few pockets of businesses. Downtown Decatur is nice, neat, and has a lot of great restaurants. Agnes Scott College is beside downtown and there are great old houses surrounding the campus.
The schools are highly regarded...small system with low teacher-student ratio. You would need to pay a visit to decide where you want to live. Decatur stretches from I-20/Memorial Dr. area to I-85/Clairmont Rd. area.
