Default Portuguese in atlanta ga

Hey does anyone know of any Portuguese clubs or churches in ATL. I'm a Portuguese descendant born in South Africa. I'm use to having allot of Portuguese socials back home. i moved to the US 2 1/2 years ago and we moved from Fl to Gray GA. I'm just feeling a little home sick for the Portuguese language and food and making some friends....

As another person of Portuguese descent (I grew up in RI, but my parents are from Madeira and the Azores), I too long for Portuguese food and meetups. There are many Brazilian markets and restaurants in the region (even Brazilian churches/masses), but for Portuguese, I have found none.

If anyone has suggestions or help, please post them!

I would love to find a Portuguese restaurant. We used to head down to the Ironbound section of Newark when I lived in North Jersey. That was some fine food!

Yep. And very plentiful wasn't it. A doggie bag was a must.

If anyone knows of a good Portuguese bakery I'd love to know. I miss good Portuguese bread, the kind found in southeastern Massachusetts Portuguese communities. Yummmmm.

There is a great Portuguese bakery and very active Brazilian community in Kennesaw. Also a big church in Dunwoody.

What is the name of the Portuguese bakery in Kennesaw? And is it Portuguese or Brazilian? They're different you know, like Spanish vs. Mexican.

do you maybe know the name of the church and bakery. I dont know if it works the same as it does back in south africa, but at the church that the portuguese attend they have socials every weekend or on special weekends... As wxjay said there is a difference between the portuguese and brazilian... Thanks though...

My parents are from the main land as they say, they are both from porto... Well in South Africa there is a large amount of Madeirans, even dated alot of them. I loved going to alot of the madeiran clubs. Would be nice to have something similar to that here in GA. I know that in FL they have get togethers for the portuguese, but its very rare that we go to FL, and we do go its to visit my in-laws....
