Looking for an African-American Owned School?
I'll tell u right now that there is a little independent, black-owned and black teachers school a few minutes from Fairburn in College Park called Blackstone Academy. They wear uniforms and they do a prayer in the morning and in the afternoon which is wonderful. The owners REALLY DO CARE about the kids (u don't find this anywhere). It is a community service-based school that goes from Pre-K to 12th grade!!! And Pre-K is straight school, not day care. my son went in at 2 years of age and went to school all day from 8 to 3 with after school care until 5pm. What's good though is that ll your kids can be in the same school. It is very small, yes, the whole school is only about 30 students. But by the time they get out of there, students sometimes have scholarships to university because of all the community service hours they have built up through the years. one student just graduated to go to Morehouse! You can be any color and any religion to go there (i'm hispanic) but practically all students are african-american. there were even some german mixed students going there at one point. it is wonderful to see people of color owning and teaching in their own schools. i live a little farther away from the school, but i have several friends that live right there in Fairburn and like that area. email me if you need the school's number. There's much more to the school's history which u can find out by speaking to Sister Anita or Brother Kenneth. Also, if you know of any RN's or medical personnel, point them to {moderator removed}: Personal web sites and phone numbers for businesses are not allowed in postings. which is also african-american owned (by my husband) and they just opened their doors this year. Also, I make beaded jewelry and sell natural lotions, soaps, toothpastes and deodorants. {moderator removed}: Personal web sites and phone numbers for businesses are not allowed in postings. 30 students and there are 14 grade levels (Pre-K through 12th Grade)? So, about 2 students per grade? That seems... a little unbelieveable.
Secondly, are you soliciting for business here? That's a no-no.

Last I heard, America was about integration and diversity. How would you like a white scholl opening up right next door, teaching only THIER version of the races? No racist education needed or wanted, thanks.

The original poster never said anything about the school teaching "their version" of the races. Aside from that, the vast majority of private schools in America are white owned and teach only a single "version of the races," whatever that means. Are you also outspokenly critical of white-owned private schools?
Public schools operates in about the same way. Children generally are not taught varying viewpoints on racial issues.

sorry people, not trying to offend, written to pass on info, was not trying to say that they are ONLY african american in 'view', 'teaching' and in 'acceptance of applications'. they are international in view, i feel. just think it is a good school for anyone who IS interested in their child's school being owned and operated by african americans. some people would like that choice. it does not matter to me personally for i am NOT african american myself, but i like what they offer. again, anyone can attend! children of different backgrounds have attended. it is run like a homeschool i guess, where there are several students per grade. details can be requested for the serious inquiries only. it all depends on what YOU are interested in for YOUR child. all in the positive energy, with peace and equal voice for everyone
