Does anyone have any feedback about Winmark Home builders? They have 2 communities within my price range. Vinings on the Chattahoochee off S. Cobb Drive and a community in Lilburn off Beaver Ruin Rd.

I'm moving for a new job at Emory and on the map these seem to be reasonable commutes. I'm planning a trip to visit the two areas but wanted to hear from the locals of their preference if they had to choose between the 2 and why.

Don't pick the one on Beaver Ruin Rd. It is in middle of Gwinnett village,a high crime area.

With any new home purchase, you have to be privy to all details of the transaction. Winmark Homes is a pretty good builder, but make sure you do your due diligence to maximize your transaction. There is real money to be saved by following this advice.

1. Are you using the builder’s preferred lender?
2. Are you dealing directly with the builder’s agent?
3. Who’s looking out for you?
4. Are you getting the home inspected by a qualified inspector?

I don't know how relative this will be to the OP but, for everyone else- buyer beware.
Winmark Homes was on the verge of bankruptcy the third quarter of last year. My understanding is they got an infusion of cash and unloaded some lots. Don't know how solvent they are now.
This wouldn't be the first time that Jenkins has gone through it.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It's all in the details. A buyer has to know what they are looking at. This entire mortgage debacle could have been averted by taking this advice.

just read this one and think ...
i was one of the fist one in kingston subdivison on beaver ruint rd in lilburn gwinnett county
i bought my house june 2006 /$256,000...now is 04 years only worth $190,000...there were problems came to me for the last 04 years
1/ the garage area inside of my house and 75% of house in the sub division are cracked
2/water pile in front of my house is broken aug-2009 cost me $420.00
3/drywall inside the house was many area cracked
4/2nd floor some area walking make noise
5/ all the switch in the house are made from CHINA they f-up i did replace 40% of them
6/ac-heater 02 unit one is broke i need to find service today
and ...i did not buy home warranty for the house because i think it's new and WINMARK is a good builder so i pay form my pocket...I DONOT KNOW WHAT'S HAPPEN NEXT...
7/all the house (152 house total) they have buil in this sub is minimum 246,000 to $350,000 at that time...they make huge benifit but those houses i think not worth that much ...around 190,000-200,000 so now is many foreclosuse..all is about $200,000
8/if u try to contact winmark office or custummer care....HELL YEHH...GOOD LUCK
FINALLY IF MY FRIEND ASK ME ABOUT THIS BUILDER...IT WILL BE A ...YES...SUCK MY ...TOES

Angry Jenkins and all his llc's

I am right with you guys, I bought my home only 2 years ago in The Falls of Braselton and have more problems than its worth. Everything from my outside sprinkler never worked to water flooding from under my foundation, no insulation in the attic of part of the home (which has no access to it) cracked garage floors cracked counter tops, sump pump had to be replaced ceiling leaks wow I can go on and on. If you try to contact them its a joke they just say "oh that is not us" what does that even mean? If you go to the secretary of state website [URL="http://corp.sos.state.ga.us/corp/soskb/csearch.asp"]Corporation Search[/URL] and just search David G Jenkins and/or clifford sandoz name and you can see all the LLC's he has with Clifford Sandoz, I work so hard every single day to get my "dream home" well not such a dream more of terror dream, I mean it's not like you get more than one dream home in a lifetime and they have taken this away from me and my family, so anybody wanting to join against them please contact me I will definately join with you, somebody should make them pay for the repairs and for making all these hard working people lives so miserable. send me an email [EMAIL="levans5069@yahoo.com"]levans5069@yahoo.com[/EMAIL]. And did anyone see somthing about hime being involved in some political deal? would not surprise me. If he cant run a straight business then he needs to stop and not be allowed to live in his Million dollar home that he has ya thats right he does.

I'm sure David Jenkins' sphincter is "light-tight" right now with Kevin Kenerly's arrest. And sufficed to say Danny Porter has him under a microscope right now!
