I thinks this is more of a personal feeling/opinion because of the bad experience he/she may have had due to choosing the wrong side/apt in Lawrenceville

Uh! just what part of Lawrenceville do you live?
The Lawrenceville I know of, downtown for example, has turned into a wonderful place over the last few years. Nice restaurants, pubs, outside produce stands, a new wonderful park, outside concerts, a very nice condo addition, etc.
The avenues of Webb Gin, though listed Snellville can also be stated as Lawrenceville.
One part of your statement I find rather amusing is it seems, that you would like to move out due to color. You speak of hispanics and want to move to Cumming Have you been to Forsyth County lately. They refer to Cumming as "Little Mexico" due to the high content of poultry plants, etc. Then you mention Alpharetta, well on this item you have the growing hispanic culture to the north and the growing black population to the southern parameter, and an ever growing Asian population, so not much difference than your description of Lawrenceville.
Let me put it to you this way, if race is the issue then I would suggest moving out and far away from the South, being SE with the large black population and the SW with the large hispanic population. Maybe an Ice Road Trucker would be a good move, unless the Eskimo native population is an issue.
Seems someone on this board is always using race as an issue on both sides. Thugs are Thugs in all lines of life, Trash is Trash, and you cannot polish a turd. Heck, growing up in West By God Virginia I can take you to locations, which are white as rice and find nothing but criminal elements and meth running rampant.
It is what it is and is what you make of it. Heck, check out one of the condo's in downtown Lawrenceville, you may find it quite nice.

race is not the issue Georgia, the simple fact that i have pot heads smoking every single day out of my apts has done it,i live around the discover mills area, back 4 yrs ago it was nice not anymore in my own experience, and if you havent checked data of gwinnett county against forsyth you are missing the rising crime rate thats going in gwinnett due to drugs, gwinnett county has become a sanctuary for drug cartels, and i have never heard such thing as "little mexico",if that is the case i am in "little kenya"

I'm not saying your experience isn't bad. However, to group all of Lawrenceville into that is a bit far reaching. Especially when the area you are in isn't even in the city limits. You are in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Also, very very close to I-85.
In regard to crime, it follows highways. Exit 104 Pleasant Hill, Exit99 Jimmy Carter Blvd, etc. Easy in's and out's.
Also, the popuation of Gwinnett in the last 4 years has increased by close to 300,000 additional people. To add 4-500,000 additional people betweens census counts, you are going to have issues. This is not only a Gwinnett issue, but the entire Atlanta metroplex. People coming here in droves chasing the "dream" as with any city, when loads of folks come who play by the rules in search of a better life you have a fraction of crap that will follow along to screw it up.
As I said before, you have bad people all over from different backgrounds.
You will find good and bad no matter the zip code. It does stink when nice areas turn to crap due to massive influxes of such. Happens in big cities and small towns, urban and rural.
An old saying, the grass might look greener over your neighbors septic tank, but you better check the tank as you might find the same load of poo.

If you looking for peace and quiet, Dawsonville.
Actually not a bad area to get to depending on where you work.
