Oh TAH is absolutely right. Asheville, NC is fantastic. So is Wilmington which I visit often. Little bit more expensive however than certain parts of GA. They get there humid days however.
The highest humidity in the USA is (my opinion) Florida and Texas during their Summers.
I've gotten used to it however ... it can be uncomfortable in a tuxedo though (Summer weddings, etc.)

Hi- I'm Bob- we moved here last year from NJ, and we're thrilled. See, now you've met someone who moved here and is happy.

My wife and I moved here from MN and we're happy here too (I would move back to the Twin Cities if I could, I think, but she would rather stay down here at this point even if we could move back).
Of course, we still bounce back up to the Twin Cities a few times a year, which makes things easier.

The traffic is a nightmare, the roads are dangerous especially I-85 and I-75. There are horrific accidents all the time on the roads. They drive here as if they were in the Indy 500. My advice would be NOT to move to Atlanta nor the suburbs.

If you think the humidity is bad in Kennesaw, you should try living in Florida.

I transferred here in 1991, bought a home just on the Cherokee/Cobb County border in 1992 and have been here since not far from U now.
There are some great things about living up here, however I will say something about the humid Summers.
I agree with Moderator that this and last Summer has been actually quite mild.
You get USED to it. I have and it can be really draining. Always drink lots of fluids, PowerAid is good. Some people do and some don't acclimate weather wise. Bring extra clothes if you must travel during the day (I wear uniform for work, I pack extra tshirts, undershorts, etc., etc.)
It's GOOD for your skin. I'm 52yo and I have two classmates(female) from HS, one moved to TN the other AZ. They don't look like twins anymore.
Some folks sweat more than others. Get a pack of "baby" wipes in the plastic cannister, get a small cooler w/ice and keep in car. When you need refreshing, grab one of those and give yourself a wipe down.
You've brought your diversity with you as many people do from all over the USA and abroad. Give it another year or so and perhaps you'll see.
There are things I LOVE about Georgia and things I absolutely DETEST and ABHOR. Pretty common analogy for just about everyone, well ... in extreme cases perhaps not!
I won't "fib" and say that CA is my home State and endearing to me - regardless of all it's faults (no pun here). I will be retiring in Palm Springs some day or sooner to SLO to take care of elderly parent(s). My best friend of 30 years lives in West Hollywood. I'll be there Saturday to see him and his Mom.
Best 2 U of course!

Last summer was quite mild ? Are you serious ? It was one of the hottest summers on record. August was the hottest August on record. It was over 100 several days.

But again, the humidity was extremely low, like 20% or so....I'll take 100+ with low humidity than 80+ with 40-50% humidity any day.

FL, LA, TX have worse humidity than here. And, the humidity only last 2months at most. Then, the rest of the year is pretty mild and nice.

NC is higher in latitude, but for the most part is lower in altitude than North GA, and most of NC is also closer to the coast than North GA. Therefore, if anything it may be a little more humid in NC, especially anywhere east of Charlotte. Of course the mountains are going to be less humid than most of North GA.

Yeah, the humidity was fairly low, but 100 is by no means considered mild.
