I do agree, ATL is way too spread out. Driving from the east side to Cobb when I was dating this one girl was a pita. That was roughly 100 miles roundtrip. Way too long for sum..well...moving along...

It doesn't have to suck, if you have a half decent woman.

I never had the problem with paying for everything. Well, I have but I don't now with my current gf. We split it up. If I pay for dinner, she pay for the movies or vice versa.

I find it ridiculous in college how chicks expect you to pay for every damn thing...and don't even attempt to throw something in to the pot. I'm broke just like you!

My thing is, I will still pay for most of everything, movie, dinner and whatever, just as a man should. But geez, can a sista at LEAST kick in 2-3 dollars for the gas? I mean I'm only driving halfway across tha freakin' U.S. just to see her! Just sayin' ya know?

Interestingly enough, I am the type to pay for everything but lately I have gotten a lot of pushback on that from women.

On the location thing, I don't even own a car but I've dated several women who live OTP and had no problem coming to me for pretty much every date. This is partially because there is way more to do intown date-wise than in the 'burbs.

Obviously there is also the matter of value-proposition.

Does you have a job yet in Atlanta or is you going to be looking for one when you get here?

Ok, ok. I'm sorry about the snide remark. But please clean up your English or you will not be attractive to successful men of any color.

Us Wolves and Snakes are in the clubs and bars waiting. No lie.
You know what, any other time I may take offense, but you make a SUPER VALID point. I totally agree. Bravo coolyfett, bravo!

When I go to Georgia State University in the downtown area, the cool women that I meet there all to often commute from places like Winder in Barrow County or from the Northern part of Gwinnett. Then the money situation is another thing.

40-50 years when the dollar was actually strong and women wasn't a major force in the labor market, yeah, a man working a high paying factory job can easily spend big wad of cash on a date and still be in the black. Fast forward to 2009 when you have competition from women which pulls down the salaries, a man is hardpressed to find money for dating.

Yet for whatever reason, some of these females still want to apply that 1950's-60's standard of the man paying everything to right now. Did I mention that back in those traditional times women often cooked a good meal after the movie date? Oh well...
Well some of us still cook (like myself), but men are soo physical that they never get the opportunity to experience that...why shouldn't 1950 standards still apply? That's the problem, men have too many excuses for why they can't be men anymore. I see plenty of men out here still with those same standards, and if the woman is a good one, she won't expect to go out all the time, or expect you to spend money everytime you go out. When I date, men (the few that have had the luxury..lol) are shocked that I cook, and I'm willing to pay around the 4th date, or that sometimes I don't wanna go anywhere and I just want to chill at home, have a drink and watch a movie. It's not that I want him to spend all the time, I just want to know that if there is someting I wanna do, he would be WILLING to spend the money because he knows I'm worth it.

The saying I've heard in NY for ladies is that if you're going to Atlanta, ya better take a man with you.
