Default Parks and/or Recreation Areas in Metro Atlanta?

I would like to visit some parks/recreation areas. I know of a few in my area of NE Atlanta--see my thread 'Dog Parks'--and I can use Google and other internet resources to learn about others. <sigh> It seems to be a full time job--researching every need/question online.

I notice that posters often mention places that would be interesting to me in areas that are geographically out of my 'Area'.

For Instance--I would love to plan a day trip<tongue in cheek-insert moderate sarcasm here> and find the Silver Comet Trail.

It is somewhere --'Over There'--Marietta/Kennesaw/Cartersville---a 'fur piece' from N. Druid Hills Rd.

How would I get to the Silver Comet Trail?

The first I heard of it was the tragic incident last fall--a young and vibrant woman was murdered--etc.

I think the articles said the Sliver Comet Trail extends into another state--???Alabama??? or maybe even Tennessee???--j/k. (***Local Atlanta humor--'YOU are too far away...' we have become very egocentric here--'I am in the right place and The Others are not...' LOL--not attacking the Norht metro area.) I'm sure it said the trail goes toward Alabama.

Must be nice. Wish it was closer--who can I call to ask about that?
Figment--Do you think Boortz could/would help me?
<ducking and Running--like the wind>

sls

Default The Silver Comet Trail runs along the E/W Connector in Southeaster Cobb.

I always use Google or Google maps to search for things like that. The second site on Google when searching for "Silver Comet Trail" is this one:

Default Googled out

I have been Googling--cannot thank the founders of Google enough for their contribution to technology.

I got tired. Couldn't get the map function to give me a map--who knows why.

I am going to go there when it gets warmer. That would be a reason for me to move to wherever this is Smyrna? Rockmart?--if I were relocating.

Not crazy enough to ride a bike on Briarcliff or Clairmont Rd.
