Taxes? Ya think? (Sorry but I don't know how esle to respond)

Of course it benefits the city the same way it benefits the entire area.

By the way, I'm not surprised its the first you've heard of it. I've discovered that people around here are quite comfortable with their assumptions no matter how outdated or completely false they may be.

I agree. But on the other hand I think the counterpoint to that is that in my observation there are also a high percentage of obese women as well. I mean strikingly so. Riding Marta most days it just jumps out at you. I mean from teenagers on up. But I just think that's a Southern dynamic. But the ones that are all around fine are slamming.

Yeah, they *might* know that CNN is there...*might*. Coca-Cola, OK, probably...people aren't going to travel there to see a Coca-Cola museum. Have you been to that museum...talk about underwhelming...geez.

Default Hummm

It is amazing in how most people post stuff about Atlanta by saying how wonderful it is and how nice the people are. If all that were true, it would of been fantastic! The truth is Atlanta is like every city out there; it has its flaws too. For people to saying Atlanta people are very nice, that's a form of generalization. Have they met millions of people from Atlanta to make that judgement? For people to say that people from San Diego are rude, how do they know? Have they met millions of people in San Diego to make that judgement? Look, like everywhere else there are nice people and there are mean people. It is all depends who you meet. Everyone is not the same. Not all southerners are nice people. I have met some who were not-so-nice individuals, but I have met some who are nice. All depends on the person's personality. As far a place goes, all I can say is there are big business interest folks who owns these big cities, like Atlanta for instance; and they are making a lot of money off of people everyday. Not all people in Atlanta are happy, not all of them have good homes, not all have good jobs etc. I can say like everywhere else, some Atlantans are doing well and some are struggling. That's just real life!

Well long as a person states what they are saying is only their opinion and not fact then that's what their realty is.Good or bad.

Whatever. If you don't think culture matters, you are deluding yourself. Not all of us are businessmen. I am a native Georgian, and I can state categorically- Atlanta does suck in alot of ways. Nightlife is abysmal unless you want the regular booty-short night out. Bars seem to close alot. Few venues for good indie live music. I can't say I blame or don't understand, but quite a bit of reverse racism (stupid term, racism is racism)- been into restaurants and been the only whitey there and was never served. That sort of thing.
The Olympics gave us new bridges but it also gave us a sheen of unreality. This place has no soul. That's why I moved. Unless you are a moneymaking automaton who lives and breathes conventions and likes a glass of white wine while listening to Kenny G, I suggest you move to Athens.

My appreciation came after living away for awhile.I came back and i was kinda a tourist since i had always lived in the suburbs.Living in the city ive found places that are unique and special.Ive been able to continue to meet people from all the world over.I like art and i have been to the sometimes empty galleries in Castleberry Hil ,one of the best antiqity museums, the high that has gotten some great visiting exhibits that rival that of some others in Americal.I am not one for the booty-short clubs either.I like the whole in the wall clubs(that does not mean run down or dangerous). The Thing about Atlanta is that their are truly world class venues here,it just not always easy to find. Our city is bigger by name than the population to support its reputation. While it growing,520,000 people is not enough to have the things you mention like in a city like Chicago,LA,NYC.But we do have more by far for cities with greater populations.Charlotte,Kansas City,Tampa, even Birmingham is bigger.Even D.C. nightlife is at best equal to Atlanta's.Atlanta has 5star restuarants and hotels.Great shopping that is only getting better.Atlanta has a very rich history and soul. Its just that its easy to grow up somewhere and not see the forest because of the trees.Thats why i think after you're gone for a while you appreciate what you miss,in sometimes not even knowing whats in your own backyard
