Yeah, they *might* know that CNN is there...*might*. Coca-Cola, OK, probably...people aren't going to travel there to see a Coca-Cola museum. Have you been to that museum...talk about underwhelming...geez.
By the way you live in Stamford?OMG!! That city is horrible!!Sorry my opinion

Your "metamorphosis" from a small town resident from Peach County Georgia (are U from Fort Valley?) into an Atlanta resident is most commendable, however did you ever wonder that perhaps others' opinion can be used (personally even) and help grow a community?
Sometimes others' express opinion or perception(s) that you may disagree with, but returning with negative comments such as the above, only indicates a very "small town" mentatlity.
Try turning their quote as a method to positively turn around what they've said in return without any negativity.

That will be impressive!
!)I was born in Peach county raised in Warner Robins,Perry,Philadephia and later suburbs of Atlanta.Summers i spent on my grandparent farm in Millen, Georgia.Im as much a proud country boy as well as a city boy.Milen was a horrible city but im glad i was able to spend time there
2)If you have read anything in any of my other threads about Atlanta,I have always been unbaised about the shortcomings of the city I call home.Atlanta is not a great city but i thinks it good and will be sooner than most at its level.
3) I was only using comparison to counter what he said about Atlanta. Some people on here say things without haveing a realistic referance when they are talking about cities they don't like.It was not about whether or not i agree.I do not have to agree with everyone, especially if its an opinion.Notice i never have made a reference to a place I dont like by making it personal.Ive sat here and heard people say things like "you got be uncultured to live there" or "everyone there is materialistic and shallow".It goes on and on.I was only questioning his reference to an earlier post:

Excellent post and good points. I completely agree with what you wrote. Atlanta is NOT a destination city, and never has been. It might be with more work in the future, but I agree. No family planning on a typical vacation living in Missouri, Texas, or Colorado will say to their kids "hey, wanna head to Atlanta this year??" *chirp chirp*...unfortunately no.
Atlanta is known outside of Atlanta, for being a convention city, a bustling airport city, a growing city, and a city for lower-cost living and good jobs. I bet 80% of people couldn't name an Atlanta attraction outside of sports teams.
He really does not know much about Atlanta. The things he said could be true about most major cities in the U.S.
If he thinks Atlanta is so bad whats his refernce for saying such?If it is Stanford Ct,then thats a poor reference and its hypocritical.Thats a logical fair question based on my opinion.Yes i could of said "Stanford?Thats not the best city to judge Atlanta from".I started to actually change it to those words after I sent it but got distracted and forgot.
Talk about offending,"small town mentality"?I have no problem being from a small town.Your perception of a small town mentality is apparently low.I do not share that veiw.I know people from NYC that have a narrow view than "small town" people as you say.Bad is bad good is good.Camden Nj is a horrible city as well would i be lying ar mean if i said that?
You should stop being "Glenda(or Glen)the Good witch of the East and allow me to interact the way i "please"LOL.Im sorry i couldn't resist im really not mad ,i just though it was funny!!LOL

Thanks for commenting ... I was born in Long Beach (Los Angeles County) and raised in San Luis Obispo. Read about SLO. When my parents moved there in the 60s - there was about 27k people. It's hovered around 42k for the past 10 years due to community and local governmental growth restraints. San Luis Obispo is perhaps one of the most desirable places (and expensive) to live in California. It is world-known because of several places there ... one being Hearst San Simeon National Monument.
My HS graduating class was about 300 students ... some of them I've known for 40 years. Some are lucky to still live there.
So you see I'm a "small town" mentality also ... however after 35 years in the workforce (global traveller) and 3 college degree's I grown to see that that isn't necessarily a "negative" ... and that turning anything [comments, views, opinions] into positive learning and progressive messages...improve everything overall. As long as it's NOT too much of a hard sell? Does that make sense?
Remember that [overused] saying, "Act locally, think globally". I believe that is what everyone still should be small town closeness and deliever that to [ALL] ... you did cover a great deal of positive reinforcement so if something came across offending, I apologize. Perhaps I didn't elaborate.
I've always said that if someone states something negative about something [I enjoy or like] I try to find out why. Then you start getting to the crux of the real issue.
Notice my status, "Denial is NOT a River in Egypt" ... I think too many people live there currently. LOL And I don't use a [broomstick] more likely a 767.

I grew up in central florida which has a lot of tourism and I was a little disappointed with the quality of 6 Flags in Atlanta. I'm just spoiled I guess by Disney World and Universal Studios. IMO the only real fun touristy activity in Atlanta is the Georgia Aquarium and that's pretty much it.
OK, I see Stone Mountain, The Ga. Aquarium, The Fox theater, The Varsity,The Swan house,Then what? That's a days vacation! Now What?
