There are apartment complexes along Briarcliff Rd from LaVista to Clairmont that might be suitable.
Some new luxury apartments recently opened along Sheridan/off Briarcliff Rd. For the price of a 1 BDR apartment you could rent a house in this area if that interests you. There are several homes in Briarcliff Heights for rent at this time--renovated 50's houses generally.
