WOW, you're really REACHING now. Pittsburgh was dead last, in last years Forbes survey (in fact for a couple yrs I believe they were last). The quote they had was "The worst place in America to be stuck with a lonely heart". But this year, I see Pittsburgh placed 28. Now, how did Pittsburgh jump from 40 to 28?

These kind of surveys are 'tongue and cheek' at best. I'm sure ATL (being as transient as it is) is a good place to hook up. But Chicago last year, I believe was #3. I personally think NYC is the best place to be single. If you can't find a woman there to hook up with, you should just turn gay.

By the way, should I hold my breath with you posting RETRACTIONS for your other posts?

Forbes did leave OUT, the FACT, that the people of ATL are some of the UGLIEST in the TOP 25 cities in the US (ATL placed 23 out of 25). Miami was considered to have the BEST looking people in America. Now, Forbes says that Miami is #8 best place for singles.

But, ATLEAST when you hook up in MIAMI, your partner is going to be VERY attractive. That's WHY there are SO many SINGLE people in ATL. They're ALL TOO UGLY to find anyone. LOL LOL LOL

We don't have enough time or space for YOUR retractions.Besides cities change,Pittsburgh,Chicago,NYC,Cleveland ,Atlanta have gone through massive changes over the years.NYC was bankrupt in the early 1990.Cities worth saving don't go down hill for too long.Except Detroit..So much potential.Detroit could easily rival Chicago like it used to if people cared enough or ENOUGH people cared.

LOOK:TIME Magazine Cover: New York City - Sep. 17, 1990 - New York
and then read the article. What makes it so bad it happen before in the 1970's(bankruptcy).
Chicago during those years it was hemorrhaging people was in horrble shape as well.Gangs ruled Chicago

Detroit could easily RIVAL Chicago? LOL LOL LOL Have you EVER been to Detroit? You can buy a house in Detroit for 1 dollar (just like you could 10 years ago). I know your black, so maybe that's why YOU think that. But, the REALITY is IT could NEVER and will NEVER happen. LOL Look at the mayor (or I should say former mayor). That's the WHOLE point, nobody cares about Detroit.

I see you did'nt respond to my 'come back' to ATL being the 'best city' for singles. LOL I understand, you're at a loss for words...........

adeltagirl is on a distinguished road
Smile Done both but moving back to Atlanta

Schools
Chicago -Awful (you have to live in the suburbs and pay hefty taxes to give your children a good education. Chicago Public schools are sorry to say the least. I am originally born and raised here and was fortunate to get into a magnet school. If you can't get your child into a magnet program you may as well chalk it up and get a tutor starting in 1st grade)

Atlanta- Awful as well (again if you live in the Northern Part of Atlanta in the burbs like Dunwoody or Alpharetta you will get a great, even fabulous education. There are lots of rental options to avoid having to purchase in an area for the sake of good schools.

Diversity
Chicago-Very segregated (Chicago has also been a city that has been separated by race.) The Midwest is not open to diversity as people would like to suggest. When you venture out to the suburbs its alittle better but then again you will see that if a neighborhood is predominantly white and black families start to move in then for sale signs go up. I have seen it happen, know people it's happened to... Unfortunately, the midwest is not progressive in that respect.

Atlanta-Very diverse (when I lived in Jonesboro we had hispanic neighbors, interracial neighbors, white neighbors and noone went trying to sell their house because someone who didn't look like them moved next door. I was pleasantly surprised to see people living harmoniously and be of different ethnicities.)

Food
Chicago - Hands down has the best food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can get great soul food, greek food, chinese food, jamaican food, you name it.

Atlanta- All you hear about is Sweet Tea and hot wings!!! Gets boring after a while.

Crime
Chicago- Awful and out of control. Last weekend alone there were 2 Chicago Police officers shot, one passed away. These fools are out of control. The gangs are way out of control. I go to Chicago as least as possible. I used to live in Chicago a couple years ago before I bought a home in Homewood, IL and can you believe some idiot stole the spare tire from underneath my SUV and it was sitting in front of my home!!!!!!!!!! I knew then it was time to go. My mother's car was stolen from in front of her house, her garage has been broken into numerous times, my grandmother was robbed walking to the grocery store (she doesn't like to drive up the street 2 blocks so she walks for the exercise). You can get drugs at a whim with access just about in 70% of the neighborhoods. Your best bet is downtown and pay $2000 for rent.

Atlanta- Can't be anything like Chi-Town!! I just can't believe it.

Nightlife
Chicago- If you can find what you like to do for example if you like hip hop i'm sure there's a scene!!! Can really offer much of a comparison. I'm a wife and mother of two and really don't go out much.

Cost of living
Chicago-Sales tax in Cook County (which includes all of Chicago)is 9.75%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gas: average cost of unleaded in the city is $4.49/gal Suburban you can find it for $3.69

Atlanta-currently has a gas shortage so there are lines just to be able to put $20 in your tank. (They are limiting how much gas you get due to the shortage). I guess you're saying what shortage?????????????

Weather
Chicago- Has 2 seasons Winter and Construction. Summers here are nice but they don't last as nearly as long as the brutal winters. The winters make such a lasting impression that it's hard to remember that any other season exists. They are always tearing some part of the
expressway up making commuting a nightmare. Took them over 3 years to renovate the Dan Ryan. They have yet to finish the steadily deteriorating Bishop Ford Freeway. Its so raggedy they had to shut down one of the exits due to it not being safe to drive on(i believe it's 111th street exit).

Atlanta - Hot and hotter but i'll take that any day over 10 below zero with windchills that'll frost your fingers and toes.

But of course do your own research and Good luck. I'm moving back to Hotlanta!!! Can't wait because it's about to get cold and I can't take it another year here.

Unlike you i can accept your opinion if thats how you feel.Just dont try it with no facts or stats to back it up.I did not say Detroit and Chicago are rivals today.I said Detroit used to.Detroit has some of the most beautiful architecture in America.Ornate buildings that were lavish up until the 60's.It was truly a beautiful city./Black has nothing to do with it.Unlike you I do not wish any American city bad.It just happens to be the reality of the matter. They need good leadership no matter what color. If the money was there along with people, that city could be fantastic.Detroit has as many corporate headquarters than Chicago.

Schools in MOST Americans 'cities' are below par or even downright awful.

"Diversity", I always thought it meant different RACES living amongst each other too, it doesn't. "Diversity", just means you have ACCESS to all them cultures. NYC is NO different than Chicago. For the most part, the Asians live amongst the Asians, the blacks live amongst the Blacks, the Hispanics live amongst the Hispanics, etc. And there ARE neighborhoods in Chicago with mixed races living together (mostly on the northside).

Food, well you just gave an EXAMPLE of HOW DIVERSE Chicago really is. You have access to food from around the ENTIRE globe. If ATL has ALL them different races there, why is it hard to find good ethnic food?

The crime? Its' bad, or EVEN real BAD, but, ALOT of the VIOLENT crime and shootings, take place on the 'southside' or far 'westside'. I've NEVER felt unsafe living in Chicago. I never PERSONALLY witnessed ANY crime either. The black neighborhoods there, CAN be VERY dangerous though (I ain't trying to deny that).

Sales tax? I thought it was 8.75%? Maybe your right on that? But you don't HAVE to even OWN a car when you live in the 'city' of Chicago. I've met ALOT of people who are 'carless' there. In Chicago, you DO have that OPTION. Think how MUCH them people in Chicago SAVE by not owning a CAR. In ATL?

The Dan Ryan was WORTh the wait! It's great now. Unless you live on the 'southside', it didn't really affect you anyway. I disagree with Chicago ONLY have 2 seasons. NOW, that could be said about ATL though, HOT and warm (or chilly).

I think that in MOST of my posts, I backed them up with FACTS. You have said things like "all the northeastern cities are DENSER than Chicago". When I asked to name even ONE (besides NYC) you couldn't. Then you tried saying "that DENSITY can mean more than just people".

Detroit has NEVER had a well DIVERSE economy. Pittsburgh had Steel Mills, and Detroit had the automakers. Once them INDUSTRIES struggle, it DRAGS those ENTIRE cities down with them. The city of Detroit has been BAD for along time. It just didn't START getting BAD recently. When did Detroit ever RIVAL Chicago? When?

Chicago has ALWAYS had MORE to offer than Detroit, ALWAYS. Now, if you want to go back a bunch of decades, sure Detroit had a bustling economy. But, so did Pittsburgh, but that doesn't mean that either of them two cities could RIVAL Chicago.

What American city do I wish does poorly? I wish the VERY BEST for the ENTIRE US, but I live in REALITY. I have seen and KNOW the difference.
