I've recently graduated from High school, well not really. I was unable to pass the Math Portion and did not receive my real diploma. Instead there was a loop whole, which since having a taken special ed class allowed me to take a special ed diploma, which is not accepted by many schools. I've taken the test 4 times and tomorrow will be my 5th time. And I honestly can't do it anymore. Last school year i applied for a wavier/Variance for math and science. Which went to the superintendent and the school board. My counselor told me there was a 3% chance of getting excepted. Lucky they excepted my science, but not math. Apparently my math remediation wasn't enough. So they denied it. There aware of my learning disability, which i have issues recalling facts etc. It takes me a little more time to understand things. It's stated in past records that i have more issues with math. And they denied it. It's so not fair. This whole test isn't fair for those who have LD's. If they don't approve my other try, is there any way to fight it and get it accepted? Because of this it leaves me a semester out of school, not getting my dreams accomplished, and me not being able to go to Israel for a year. Which i really wanted to do. But no.. They denied it and screwed me over and basically forgot me. Is there any other way to fight them?

Did you ask your counselor what other students with learning disabilities do to get their diploma? Why would they deny you and not others with disabilities? Or are they saying that those with learning disabilities cannot get a regular diploma? (without passing the test)

without passing this test i can't get my career technology diploma, instead i get a special ed diploma.. Which i got, but doesn't get me anywhere..Reapplying for this wavier/variance is hell. a 3% chance... this is killing me not being in school. They've basically screwed me over and basically forgot..... the board and superintendent are just power hungry... They don't care if i have a LD... This test is worthless and it such a pain for those who are bad test takers and those who have LD's... I don't know what to do anymore....
